San Gregorio da Sassola Apartment Overview
If you’ve ever dreamt of living in a real-life Italian fairytale, now’s your chance! Located approximately 30 minutes outside of Rome, this stunning 2 bedroom apartment is located in a charming Italian village with a recently renovated castle, Castello Brancaccio. Yes, you heard that right. A CASTLE.
Arrival in San Gregorio da Sassola
I had a rental car during my stay, so arrival was incredibly easy. My host, Leah, met me to show me where to park my car, which was not far from the Airbnb. The apartment is on the ground level, so you don’t need to worry about lifting your luggage up any flights of stairs. There are only a few steps on the walkway that leads to the home.
If you don’t have a car, there are direct trains from Rome to nearby Tivoli, as well as bus routes with a stop in San Gregorio da Sassola. You can also reach out to your host, Leah, to arrange for private transportation. I would recommend a train or private transportation as opposed to a bus; when I searched bus schedules, it appeared that you would have to make a couple transfers.
The Apartment
This is one of the most romantic, beautiful, and quaint Airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in. As you enter, you’ll be in the kitchen, which has any of the staples you could possibly need to cook at home, including a large refrigerator. The bathroom has a stand-up shower and washer/dryer combo. A dryer is incredibly rare in Italy, so this was definitely a perk!
The living and dining area was massive with a big screen TV and comfortable couch, ideal for relaxing nights in. There is a small second bedroom that is ideal for kids or for one of two travelers that may want a little privacy.
The primary bedroom has an incredibly comfortable queen-sized bed and large wardrobe. What really sold me on this Airbnb, though, was the balcony. Oh, this balcony! The view from it is like peering out to what I would imagine heaven would look like. You’ll have a 180 degree view of rolling green hills, olive groves, and blue skies. It’s the perfect place to begin your morning with a coffee or end your day with a glass of wine. Hopefully you’ll be able to see for yourself because a description and photo just doesn’t do it justice.

Takeaway
If you’ve been wanting to have your Italian moment and spend a few nights living La Dolce Vita in a charming and authentic Italian castle town, now’s your chance. San Gregorio da Sassola is free of tourists and is an idyllic place for you to truly unwind and live among the locals during your trip to Italy.
